The Theory of evolution by natural selection
- Individuals within a species are different from each other. These are commonly known as variations.
- If the climate or food changes some animals or plant are relatively better the other individuals in the same environment.
- If one variety lives longer it has the ability to produce more offspring than one with a shorter life span.
- If some offspring inherit alleles responsible for variation they are likely to live longer and leave behind more offspring.
- In due course it will replace the original variety.
